This old house was our home
one we all chose as our own
things were different then
three women working hard
struggling to make the rent
but this house was our home
one we could call our own
some may not understand
but we shall always remember
things were different then
simplicity removed from the
greed of the world we've
since been introduced to
and tried so hard to understand
those were the good old days
when things were different then
farewell old house we called our home now little boxes are packed in our souls shall forever remain our memories to be told...

One last look, then turn off the lights.
I had a little ritual for saying goodbye to a house. Glad to see I'm not alone.

Your poem made me just a little sad. So many memories, but thank God we can store them in our hearts forever.
Very well done little one.

Very expressive. I really like, "now little boxes are packed in our souls shall forever remain our memories to be told..." Good job on this.

This is so very bitter sweet. The feeling is heart breaking. Good job here in expression of emotions as well! Teresa
