SO THE STORM THAT ONE THOUGHT WAS...OVER, IS ABOUT TO BEGIN, AGAIN. WELL I WOULD GUESS THAT THE BEST PLACE TO GO IS TO THE CAVE OF 'DREAMLAND' WHERE ALL THINGS ARE BEAUTIFUL...AT LEAST, FOR A WHILE. THANKS FOR SHARING, REGIS. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
The poem you have written is certainly refreshing and something different. It is emotional and speaks volumes to the heart and soul. You paint beautiful scenery with your words and I am touched by them. Thank you for sharing. It brought a smile to my face.
I really appreciate this poem Regis, so beautifully written and refreshing! The French VOW!! You are blessed with such a wonderful gift!May the Lord continually bless you and your family and thanks!
Regis,
This one makes me want to go back and read from my French collection. I forgot the author but it goes like this: Il pleure dans mon couer comme il pleut sur la ville, quelle est cette longuer qui penetre mon couer.
nicole
Hi Regis, I guess the dream always comes before the reality?! You write with such depth and meaning.. such perception you have, even from dreams. It's in dreams that I get answers to this life, but they come to me something like parables... awesome, my friend... you always have the right words...
absolutely beautiful, why is it it gets so cloudy and spooky before a storm, but when it's over, the air is so clean and fresh smelling, you want it to last forever. Here is Michigan, right before a storm whether it be rain or snow, it get's so spooky but when it's over, taking a walk, seems the right thing to do.
...'Have washed the trees'....'In this calm before the storm I close my eyes I sleep and I dream of you' BEAUTIFUL, ROMANTIC WORDS!!!!!!!!! I love them!!!! Liana Margiva
Very beautiful and reminiscent of freezing nights in the woods under the moon, Regis. It's the perfect place for the coming storms both of nature and of relationships as you have painted so hauntingly well...Jerry
After reading the poem, in both languages and the reviews, one feels kind of lost for words.
But,"son sourire sinistre sourit" gave me connotation of other things, took me on a trip to another forest, to other trembling skies, in a world of screams with fear, to a universe where man was beating the calm with a club made of storms.
You started me going...
Georg
we all have known the calm before the storm

Happy New Year To you & Family
Peace be withyou
That French is loveerly as anessa says (I still remember a few words from H.S.) A wonderful poem and picture (did you take it?) I know you get storms where you live but do you get much snow? Happy New Year!
mike
Oh how I miss a Winter sky...Your pen brought the images right here...And, it's suppose to hit 21 degrees tonight! BRRRRRRRR! This is not Florida weather and I already have a fever!
The French is impressive, dear sir!
Enjoyed~
How is it you manage to keep topping yourself, Sir? Here, the spareness and contrasts -- the moon's "sinister" smile, the soldiers' appearance so soon after serenity bathes -- lend brilliance and poignancy. Encore! ENCORE!! <3 'Pea' <3 ~ PS: Thank you for helping to make the first day of the new year so memorable. Happy Every Day, Every Year!!!
Beautiful in both English and French. It's nice to read you again Regis. I'm only sorry it's taken so long for me to visit your den. It has been entirely circumstantial. I hope to read more of your work now.

Oh yes... the anticipation, perhaps, of an awaited emotional climax that clarifies and transmits. All is gleaned in that sudden moment of the revelation of a lightning strike. I like this a lot. It's so clear and visual. I have no idea why, but it reminds me a little of a lyric by James Taylor - has the same sparse and yet specific story-telling qualities. Bless you, Regis. I wish you all good things in the year ahead and much joy and fulfillment in the days to come. With love for a Happy New Year, Kate xx
Reg, a beautiful re-do of your dream...nice work. I like the added touch of the French version as well, even though I don't speak or read the language.
Regis, Votre rêve est bien clair. Une grande turbulence dans votre rêve qui venait de passer, attendez de voir le calme, la paix et le bonheur,
Amicalement votre Emile
Your dream is very clear. There was a big turbulence in your dream, which just passed. You should expect to see the calm, peace and happiness.
Les feuilles mortes se ramassent à la pelle, les souvenirs et les regrets aussi.
Happy new Year Emile
I love the perspective of the posted photo. It offers a view which is every bit as unique as the wording in your poem. Your words fill me with both peace and anxiety. Beautiful to enjoy, plus there's a feel of waiting for that 'shoe to drop'. Excellent write! Hugs:)
Regis, sounds like there is peace in your heart and mind...there's a time to clear the mind and ready you for a possible storm in life. Your writings are wonderful!!!
wow! I am happy to know that I am not the only one who finds beauty in the dark and grey nakedness of winter trees. :)

Somehow more urgent, engaging and incredibly moving in French, Regis, I loved your deeply revealing and prophetic writing in English as well, so thank you for the expert translation.
The entire poem gives me the sensation of wish fulfillment versus fear. The trees are significant as they are "clean, bare and beautiful," images that hint of innocence and strength combined in their essence. Although the next stanza states that the storm is over, which has cleansed the field, your title as well as the remainder of the poem hint of a new storm pending, filling the reader with dread and the poem with an underlying tension that refuses to dissipate even until the end. Then, the moon, which most writers perceive as neutral or fair, takes on a "sinister" role in your poem, continuing the theme of danger to come as she rises. This image gives the reader the sense that the new evil that she portends will touch us all. Next, as the prophet you are, you interpret these signs as "war is coming," a prognostication I believe we all should heed. Knowing the future that awaits, and in contrast to the tension this work is fraught with throughout, you conclude with a nostalgic return to an innocent and emotionally satisfying state of comfort and protection, leaving the vision of the more universal perilous future for the personal wish fulfillment and satisfaction of the dream. Great effort. I enjoyed every intensely vivid line.
Dreams can have deep meanings and sometimes just a remnant of the day's events that the subconscious mind stores. As I read the lines again and again, I can feel the dreamer's yearning to be in his own 'comfort zone', where he feels happy and safe and dream away unwanted factors that life might bring to his door. You really got my contemplative side on this one, Reg. Very interesting indeed.
Fascinating and so mysterious
It's so Unbelievable how a dream
can turns into a message once you
discover the meaning of that dream!
Fascinating and very intriguing!
Wishing you and your family an abundance of blessings
Peace Love and Joy....for The New Year ....Morning Star
A mysterious write and dream I might add. I believe that hidden message within our dreams...although we may not discover their meaning right away in time it will become crystal clear. I once had a dream that took months to discover the meaning. I posted a poem about it last year and reposted it this year around 9-11....let us know when and if the answer is revealed to you...great write indeed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Enraptured of the moon ... ah, the tides of change wash upon the land, clean the gaps, heal the rape of human hands. What wonderous, lingering thoughts you provoke with well-paced, precisely chosen words.
This is beautiful, Regis, even translated into English. The picture looks like a place in Northern California called "Cathedral." There is a narrow gauge train that goes through the redwoods there and you can stop at this place and have a picnic or take a Kodak moment and catch the next train going in either direction. This place got its name because when the sun shines at the right angle through the grove of trees, it makes stained glass patterns on the earth. I suspect that your dream depicts a quenching of the area through rain and snow, followed by renewal in Spring. The redwood is ever staunch but should she fall, new life will sprout forth from the length of her trunk; she is fertile even in death.
Take care,
Sherry
Amazing what dreams can bring to us. If you ever figure out what it means you will have to let us know :-)
I have had dreams which years later I knew what they meant.
Karen, upon seeing this title, wondered if it was about me. The StormSpinner. LOL (She forgot to mention that in her review.)
I can see why you consistantly get reviews: you are good. Danged good. So much said in few words: perfect. Amid the chaos of wars and rumors of wars, it is nice to dream of peace as a loved one. :) Well done.

Interesting write, Reg. Not sure what it means, either, but I have been feeling like something...don't know what...but something world altering is on the verge of happening in the next year or so...maybe it's just midlife crisis? This was a good write, very descriptive, taking the reader into the mood.Liked it a lot.
Take care and be well,
