Angels Recalled

I want to ask
Where were the guardian angels?

The answer is probably beyond
my comprehension

Still

I think I know something
Some sweet sentiments sent to me
To soothe the searing sadness in my soul

Those gentle angels
Were called back to heaven
We did not deserve them

One only has to look at the state of the world
How we treat our mother Earth
How we treat each other
How our systems give birth to monsters

Yes I weep for the sweet angels
Twenty precious souls
Whose departure leaves a gaping emptiness
On the edge of a world going mad

Somehow I know they were here to teach us

We never learn

Why would they stay?

I must admit, I find your poetry more emotional and touching now then when we first met in 2009. You are an accomplished poet. We don't deserve angels.

Stay well and keep writing

Regis,
What a beautiful write to those 20 Angels that left so soon. We cannot understand the cruelty in this world that has spread like wild fire but we can take comfort in the thought that we DO believe in....ANGELS.

Years ago Regis I had an angel visit me, Raphael healing angel in a dream, he never talked just looked at me under a light post, then fell forward into a street of glass and it shattered into many pieces. I was not well at the time and remembered seeing and hearing the work "convey", after the word came the angel, and I knew I was healed after I saw him and the glass shattered.
I like the story In the Bible Mark 9:14-32 about Believing...The reason we do not have our prayers answered sometimes, is because of our unbelief...I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief!!

Yes my friend, there are angels God sends to administer to us, sometimes we choose not to see them.

Enjoyed the read!

They have taught us, yet it does make me sad when I see so many endorsing the gun law in the states. Drinking and driving does not mix. Guns and drugs are another lethal; yet legal threat.

A country where fear rules, must be a sign where much needs changing?

Young lives taken barely before they began. We can only hope and pray that their lives will not be in vain, that action will be taken - what, I don't know - to try and keep our children safe from both physical and metaphysical monsters.

Beautifully penned.

yesterday morning I woke weeping (again)
I know it didn't happen to me through my child
but I am so sick inside over it & you have given
us a powerful piece of your heart here Regis
...it is how we treat each other. It's hard to
comprehend living monsters & to think he was perhaps
feeling vengeful over his jealousy. He is also a victim.
I seen his "little boy" images & he is beautiful. I am so
sorry for everyone.

Evil existed for that day. But, if you look at the outpouring of love that followed. Good exists as well. Someday maybe we'll figure out how to make the evil and it's ugliness go away.

We can only trust and pray they are in a better place, Regis; one where such evil can never be visited upon them again. Why would they stay, indeed. It's hard to grapple with the death of children at the "best" of times, but when it's en masse in a wilful act of terror and violence, it's incomprehensible. It is THEN that we begin to see what the antithesis of a God of Love really is, and what is unleashed upon the world at large in our largely God-less age. Funny how people are generally comfortable to talk about God but are less easy at naming the Devil - but how can you have one without the other? I digress. This sorrow lives on; bless you for confronting it. xx

No matter how we feel or see the world
when we are at our lowest that's when
they are the closest... It is our own
sadness that prevents us from feeling
them near Regis...

The Angels were there right in front
of them and having them look up into
their eyes right before the tragedy...
Do not underestimate the power of the
Almighty and His angels to cradle them
quickly before they were carried off
to the other side (heaven)...

It is our responsibility as an individual
to hush and listen.... to our guardians
who never leave us... they are always
there... Things happen beyond our own
comprehension and we wonder why, I won't
go into it here but know these beautiful
little souls are in the hands of love...

There are ways to change the world
Lincoln changed the world by taking a stand
Fighting slavery was not popular then
Still he made an impact that stood the test of time
All over this land

The insane person simply pulled a trigger, he was a nut just like Lincoln's killer, Mr. Booth
Both these men had little respect for authority
They just kill another in anger
They did it with no concern for justice, God's laws or for youth

The thing we must stand for is love of God, country and each other.
Especially the message at Christmas, We should love the birth of Jesus as we comfort and love one another

Peace, love and Christmas blesings to you mu friend,

The angeles who died

Yes Regies, Jansen has a point, millions in the world die every day, all little angels, if not from starvation, sickness,or neglect we make sure we do it with bombs, all little angels indeed, are we getting angry enough, marching in the street, or is a tear or two enough, if that, the media sure is making a mint on tears, aren't they. Not to take away from the terrible grief of the parents, a much slower more insidious death will be visiting all parents, when as were are doing poisoning slowly all there is, didn't it say the living shall envy the dead, I read it somewhere, anyone loving them enough so this won't happen, tears will do for grief of the moment, but as Jansen said, are we getting mad enough to do something, and I don't just mean guns, that is a merciful fast death, the children all over the world what awaits them? Bless ya, and Merry Christmas.

Maybe God should take all the children all at once. Maybe then man will learn. My Mother used to say, "Only the good die young." I think she was right. And I have to agree with you, the world has gone mad.

Reg, I understand the agony you express in your poem, and it hurts, but I don't think these young angels would want us to mourn forever the fate they were handed...but to rejoice forever that they touched our lives.

This is a cold cruel world...but a world that can be changed by slowly changing attitudes, one person at a time.

I'm no longer a 'religious' person...but I believe their is a deep spiritual awakening taking place around the world, again, one person at a time. As for me, I want to be a part of that process.

I wish you peace, hope and understanding, always.
Dan
