A stay in the hospital...

Poem Artwork

Eden Ward

My sweet butterfly from far away
You have stayed by my side all the way
God has sent angels to keep me in focus
I am fortunate he sent some to us
For though you are an angel, you need them too
It would be a blessing if I could be one for you
I have looked down that rabbit hole
You held me back and held me whole
You came to me on the edge of despair
I felt your silken, mystical honey hair
And although I had seen you before
I knew nothing of your inner core
You somehow managed to calm the storm in my soul
I just assumed you had your own personal goal
I have been wrong about you on so many levels
You have found ways of chasing away my devils
You promised not to leave me alone and bereft
And thus far you have always been there and not left
I know that because I am a wounded soul
I have not filled only roses and cherries in your bowl
But you may be assured my sweet angel girl
There is not a moment when I do not think of you as my pearl
Time and life in this place are just not the same
Each moment brings new ones each with their own game
Some seem to be losing in spite of all effort
Others like me are fortunate and come out of the dirt
Oddly all my fears have vanished
Though I admit I am famished
To "be" with you once more and knowingly forever
Since somehow you have found us in our way together

Such sadness and fragility, placed amongst words like silken pillows to buffer and soothe the ragged edges. I feel it.

So glad you can put your thoughts into poetry and to make a come back with new poetry for us to read, love, share, and it tends to pick me up to know that you are back again and that i've read more of your poetry and depression leaves with your kind reviews. Always be yourself and i know times are rough, but god has a plan for us all, and it just takes time for when things happen.

This is a total delight and an enchanting tribute and meditation, Regis. Perhaps even a stay in hospital can become a veritable Eden if ministered to by such a one. I do hope you are well and your Mothers' Day warm wishes have been greatly appreciated, thank you. Blessing begets blessing! :) xx

Regis, your poem's as complex and as deep as your
intellect and sensitivity of your mind is.
You've made an important point...with well-chosen
poetic lines...we disappoint and get disappointed
and it is a fact of life...hopes of deep satisfaction
become a tarnished nightmare..."come out of the dirt"
in your poems line...disappointment compounds into
depression/despair..."you came to me at the edge
of despair"...which leads to more serious consequences,
but than...the strong values (versed in your poem)...
...deep meanings and...a lot of hope appear to act
as catalysts for mobilizing true energy...a lot of energy
...without which the life seems...futile...

Oh! Yes, life's just a bowl of cherries and you never
know how many are rotten...but we know (from your line)
that the Angel's there...while you stand... in the Eden
Ward with bowl of cherries to feast on...caring Angel
...giving the strength...helping to separate laughter
from hurt...giving more hope to endure...to endure
the pain...
Thank you Regis for sharing your poem with us...sharing
the emotional experience.
Many Blessings!

I believe in angels. We both know one who is wounded. Perhaps you two angels can help each other as the fates have seemed to intend.

Love ya!

Good to see you back on the Den, Regis. This is a sweet/sad piece of writing, and I enjoyed reading it. Life gives us unexpected turns and needless worries it seems. Here's hoping you get your wish "to 'be' with you once more."

May angels always surround you Dear Regis...
Angels come when you are at your lowest...
They know when you are in need...
I have waited for my Angel to come, but lately
been sleeping the days away when I'm not out in
nature...

Beautiful poetry as always...

Love and Light
Lily
