That Time of You

Here is that time once more
That time that reminds me
Like a slap from a sledge hammer
That you are somewhere out there
I don’t really know where
That time that comes when I wake up
That time that is every moment
And stays with me throughout the day
For your soul’s etched upon my soul
And since the first time that we met
Life has never been the same
I know that things cannot be right
Until this storm within my heart abates
It is not closure I wish for
It is resumption of what we had
For such a love can never be forgotten
Nor its absence ever be ignored

The gnawing restlessness of this piece is evident throughout, yet balanced beautifully with reverence. Well done!

Time Doesn't heal the wound, just lessens the pain. Love is seldom equally reciprocated. I feel your pain. Your poem is deeply brilliant.

Another well written poem, as usual. However, let's hope the woman in question doesn't read it because all you'll get is her pity. Women never love men they feel sorry for.
All the best & Merry Christmas!

...just when you wake up and remember the half-face...is
the loneliest feeling in the world...a restless longing for the one
you deeply cared about...is the feeling that hurts most...and
continue to persist long after the relationship ended...but
in such moment you trully connect to your spiritual essence
and learn...all left is only the wait for the pain to go...to be
replaced by an inner peace...
The words of your pensive poem, Regis, help to put a lost love
into perspective...and healing to occur...
Thank you for sharing your sensitive and fine writing.

I'm with the rest. Having spent some time in depression over lost loves for one reason or another, the best thing to do is get out in the marketplace and check all the fish in the sea. Before you know it, the love of your life, she will be.

With age, it always seems to get better.

I hope and do I hope that this "Lady" will not toil too much in her wonderment. She's going to be wondering someday, 'Now, why am I alone? Damn!'.................That's when you, my handsome poet, tell her why.

Love ya!

Sorry you had to get hurt like that. it happens and isn't nice at all, cause we get so used to that person, it's like we want them to be with us forever. But forever isn't just meant to be.

I have been in this place before; believing that the love you once shared was so right, so powerful that it could never end. Unfortunately, people have their own issues and in the end, they don't feel the same way that you do. Somehow, you must find a way to move on and let them go. The problem with the love the two of you shared is not yours, it is theirs and they will never hold that love in the special place that you do.

Beautifully expressed Regis. Man, you got a way with words! If she reads this one she should heed your call. If not, she may not be worth having after all. Hey, I want you to have a MERRY Christmas so go for it my friend.
