Sometimes, love just "works" even if only for a short while. If it does, the experience is engraved on the soul/heart and time has no power over it.

Poem Artwork

Déjà Vu Love

You were a stranger
At the start of that night
And yet
The experience shared
Was intimate
The passion somehow familiar
Like interrupted memories
That we reawakened
We did not adhere to limits
We had no regrets
But we did bring down the curtain
With promises
As the moon waned
In the magenta sky of dawn

I wonder if it was a one night stand or a reminiscence of what happened before. One can't help comparing…

Thought I'd quote a couple of lines I especially liked in this poem but, I'd have ended up quoting the whole damn thing.

Promises on the first night, eh? Those Canadian sunsets are quite powerful! But I digress. It looks like she accepted your rose. and that says a lot.

A fast intense poem of "promises made in the night". This is what the moment can bring when we are right there in the middle of it. Nice work. John
