I was actually conceived in Brittany, France. All my extended family lives there. I have visited there but I am glad my parents decided to come and live in Canada.
Our roots will always call to us from across the ocean, it is only natural. We can build new roots but we can always feel the stems of our ancestry tugging at us, well done Regis, it was a pleasure delving into your poetic words, blessings x

I did the Ancestry DNA thing and was surprised at the results.
Seems I am mostly British and Irish, with a sprinkling of Spain and Portugal.
But, like you I was borned in the US.
Glad I don't have to worry about being deported.
Majestic reflective poetry! I too have a fond admiration of my grandparents birth home across the sea. When I go to Italy I feel as if I belong there and I was tossed to another location to wander like a rolling stone. One day perhaps I will return and if God will it, I will stay in my Mother country. The country of all of my ancestors. Well done, once again my friend.
Is that why, there is a little bit of a lilt in your poetry? If you stick your toe into the great water, you will be connected physically, as you are spiritually.
