Some encounters do this... ...and one never forgets.

Poem Artwork

 So You

 So

I am wandering through life

Maybe kind of just floating

Soaring a bit at times

Then

Plummeting

Hoping

Wishing

Not really knowing anything

For real

But when I look around me

“There are plants and birds and rocks and things”

Thank you, “America”

Great rock group

I always love

Plants

Birds

Rocks

Things

Then

There is you

So only you

Capture the moment

Start to dance

Weave

Your life

Into mine

How can I possibly ignore

Epiphany born?

WHAT WE NEED ALWAYS SEEMS TO SHOW UP AT PRECISELY THE RIGHT TIME...AND THIS IS ESPECIALLY APPRECIATED WHEN ONE IS WANDERING AIMLESS IN A DESERT THEN WATER COMES... EVIDENCING PLANTS, BIRDS, ROCKS AND ALL SUCH THINGS THAT WERE HIDDEN BY THE DESERT. FOR SURE...THE HORSE AND ITS RIDER, WILL NEVER FORGET SUCH AN EXPERIENCE...WITH AMERICA. MANY THINGS 'LIFT' US-- SOMETIMES ITS A THOUGHT OR A PHRASE, SOMETIMES AN AROMA, SOMETIMES...A PERSON WITH A SONG. I WENT AND LISTENED TO THE SONG(YOU KNOW I DID) AND I REMEMBERED IT AS A HIT SONG I LIKED. SO WELL DONE, REGIS, THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

The stark comparison of HER with everything else, and how thoughts of her loom larger than the rest make this an excellent writing! The question you pose at the end says it all!

Great writing, Regis!

No matter what we experiencing in life, whether it's love, on a vacation, at work or even grocery shopping....We remember that one song that stands out the most....Music soothes everyone's soul....

I love that juxtaposition of words in that great lyric by America, too. So, thinking about the lyrics always brings you back to the "you" you are referring to. Will she read the poem?

Now that's going through the desert on a horse with no name, dancing away the day.
