Who found herself thrown into jail;
The reason being,
She was caught peeing,
In the street without even a pail.

Along the way she met a train;
It was not on the tracks,
Her head was full of cracks,
So perhaps she had just lost her brain.

Fell into a fountain,
And since have been blessed from above.

Had the turtle shod,
And then taught the turtle to hurtle.

Who thought he’d come down with the flu;

Around his mouth there was always froth;
The reason for that,
He made in a vat,
His own ale which he drank like a broth.

My beloved doctor Papa (step-father) served in Medicine for 50 years. He had an amazing bedside manner which everyone loved. One of his favorites was entertaining his patients with limericks! His blue eyes twinkled with mischief as he recounted The Love Life of the Sphinx, The Garden of Adam, or Amos and Andy's Hieroglyphics to name a few. And he enjoyed their reactions so immensely, he would laugh right along. He sounded like Precious Pup!
Your wonderful gift and Pap's memory has inspired me, Regis!
I still remember them well
Though some are too risque to tell
But he made them all laugh
They were thankful for that..
And to this day his name is still swell!
Love & Blessings to you Always,
Rhonda
Cheers,
Dan.
You have just inspired me to write one too.
There once was a man named Affray
whose fan was a lady named Kay
she called him 'Great Poet'
though he did not know it,
until he read these words today.
the Edward Lear of British Columbia.
do joy bring.
When it comes to limericks,
you're the king.
Love ya!
