Someone you find and love and just goes.

Poem Artwork

 Gone with the Wind

Gone with the wind is my love

Gone with the autumn leaves

Falling on me

Resting on me

Gone with the wind is her scent

The utter loveliness of her

The utter loneliness without her

Fool I was

Fool I am

Hoping she forgives me

Now she has gone

God

She is with You

I feel like a fool

I did not do as I should have

I feel so humbled

I love her

Now

I love you

Time has moved on

But only you

Matter

Now

Only you

My sweetest love

If you allow

Me

As usual, you write with such knowledge & power that it is hard to imagine not reading it, wonder how I missed this one till now; glad I found it...-e-

REGIS, IN SITUATIONS LIKE THIS I HAVE TO BECOME A PARROT AND REPEAT WHAT I ALWAYS SAY...'BETTER TO HAVE LOVED AND LOST, THAN NEVER TO HAVE LOVED AT ALL'. SWEET MEMORIES ARE JUST THAT...OURS TO HOLD-ON TO AND TO PACK AWAY AND UNPACK WHENEVER WE'RE READY. BECAUSE, IN THE END...WHO, BUT GOD, REALLY KNOWS HOW THINGS WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT? AND, I REALLY DO BELIEVE, WITH GOD BEING IN CONTROL OF 'EVERYTHING'...'IF' IT WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK OUT, IT WOULD HAVE. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Most of the time when they leave us, it is not because of them… Initially there was something that attracted them to us. But probably us that caused them to to leave. I don't see your poem taking responsibility for what you did to cause her to leave… But I'm confused, it looks like she died? Has she died?

Time to find someone more compatible with you that will stay with you for the long run.

My mother sent me the obituary of a girl that actually proposed to me on the first date, she was that desperate to get married. She was a hometown girl with a high school education and no desire to go to college… Anyway, when I didn't give her an engagement ring after six months, she left me for someone who would. She didn't marry him, but her best friend's brother who she told me she didn't like. She died young, about 70. I don't know what from, but she was a smoker. It hurt me when she left and I became paralyzed within a few months after. But I didn't feel any remorse in reading her obituary.

We can be foolish in love. You have expressed it well here, Regis. One feels the longing in the poem.

GONE WITH THE WIND - great movie!
Was your love a beauty like Scarlett O'Hara,
Regis? She must have been as she has called
forth your lovely poignant lines ....nothing
comes from nothing, nothing ever could!
to quote Oscar Hammerstein II.

Regis:

You have been a great friend to those who had passed away, and I'm sure they appreciate your friendship. Yes, moving on is the best way to be. I hope you'll find the one you love soon.
