No peace really coming, just not meant to be, too many want too much and more. War makes money and that's the greed of this world right now.

as i watch the current republican debates, i think of your poem now. this truth heard, now seen, soon understood and...too soon forgotten. super work.

A very good first accomplishment, Regis. I especially like the last two lines.

I do not believe peace will ever come. As long as greed exists no one will see peace. I only wish it will come someday, or at least something close to it. The only place I find peace is amongst the trees. If only we could all live like is done among the trees.

As always, you have hit the nail square on the head, my friend. History tell us that many, if not most, humans have proved incapable of living in peace. Haven't cared to! As individuals, some of us manage -- very occasionally, groups. But group dynamics. . .talk about a can of worms! As you know, crowd psychology has a way to turning to psychopathology. Why is that? Greed plays a big role, but there are more subtle factors at work. The larger the group, the more likely it is to turn violent. Members go on the attack or use less powerful members to do their dirty work. This isn't very helpful. Sorry. Thank you for never ceasing to drum for
peace. The spiritual connection that is the only route! All we can do is do our best to live by example, and encourage others to. Look toward the Light and those, like you,

would work better. I would find another word than "old farts" even if I had to rewrite a bit. It made me laugh, but this is a serious poem, not a humorous one, or should be at any rate. You know I've always your writing is very good, but I will still say what I think. Some things never change. :)

I doubt that there will ever be world peace in our lifetime, but I hope and pray that their will be peace for our children.

Regis.. I believe that global peace can only come when each of us brings her/his own peace to the table.. I, too, shake my mental fist at what these 'powers' do.. but when I look around, when I awake to a new day, when I laugh uncontrollably, when a friend sees I'm hurting and hugs me, when that first tomato appears on the vine.. I feel real, genuine peace.. real joy! Perhaps it isn't always about the 'big picture'.. The 'secret' to writing good sonnets is very much in the ear.
Thus, I find that I frequently reread, read aloud, and further polish and fine-tune words and cadences in my pieces to improve the flow. This has been known to take hours! :)

the earth has peace ..it's mankind that has not and I agree sadly it will not be in my lifetime that mankind finds it,not all over..but I do believe it is here in little pockets that are growing daily..it starts with one,with each of us,and then it grows..and you did a great job :)) I like a thought provoking write :)
