Inspired in part by the film "A Beautiful Mind" and by recent conversations with a very special friend.

Poem Artwork

Life sentence
in prism

Unique worlds
of colored hues

Separate selves
in different cells
Much time to think
observe
through tinted shafts
of rainbow-colored bars

Thought is predisposed
by color
here
IQ test scores
high to genius
in one world
average
in another

Which world is real?
Which "me" speaks to you now?

A recurring concern:

If lights go out
if darkness falls
so will the walls
of this prism
What will ensue
but guaranteed uncertainty
along the edge of dark
colorless void?

Best to dream away
the dark hours
let light return
and redefine
the walls of my prism

MY DAYS OF SELF-IMPOSED PRISM....GOING IN AND OUT OF VARIOUS METHODS...TRYING TO 'COPE' ON MY OWN IS LONG GONE. NOW I WALK IN ONE LIGHT, 'HIS' LIGHT...BEAUTIFUL LIGHT, WHERE THE DEW DROPS OF MERCY SHINE BRIGHT, WALKING IN THE LIGHT OF THE LORD. AHA....! YOU SAY, BUT IT'S STILL A KIND OF PRISM. OKAY, I ACCEPT THAT, AMEN(SMILE). WRITTEN QUITE A WHILE AGO, STILL ENJOYED. THANKS REGIS...LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Mental Illness = sometimes labeled as schizo, sometimes labeled as what was not a true diagnosis, of which I forget the name - but means unsociable, been through it, found it frustrating til right meds were working, find that light can come into a life that has a prism.

Regis,
This poem is deeply written and surpasses the physical. A great reminder of the fact that we never really know someone 100%. All we can do is accept and love the sides shown to us. Love & Hugs~

In my opinion this is nearly perfect, and any changes are probably my biases, shows such magnitude of tenderness and understanding for the poor plight of people here, in there: suffering, and great care in touching, comes from a heart perplexed, with all the many
