Another film poem

 

cult figure
 
i’m a forty foot high construct
built from dreams, rumors
delusions of grandeur
 
observing my celluloid world
i don’t understand why
my surroundings are so admired
 
i fade into view
the lens captured me eternal
while corporeal referent fades
will die
someday
i want to punch through
that mass of canvas
to where all is real
and temporal

but i’m afraid
