PHOENIX
What happened to my lost loves?
To the loves that
I thought I would die without?
They died, each in its time;
And I’m still living,
But how?
What happened to my heart,
When my loves left me?
Pieces of my heart, pieces of my soul,
Pieces of my mind,
Died with them also!
How did I go on living,
When my heart was broken
My mind inept of thinking
My whole being hurting?
I killed my loves
And the memories that were
Associated with them, good, or bad,
I killed any feelings inside me
Like water poured over a flaming fire
But from the ashes,
Every time,
A new me arose
Like the Phoenix bird
Stronger even
With every lost.
