I wanted to share this poem with my friends at Authors' den, as a Gift of Hope.
The Gift
The day after Christmas,
I was thinking,
“Tomorrow is Saint Stefan,
The anniversary of
My late Father’s name day”
“This year was not my year!
Income slashed,
Health problems,
Bills mounting”
“No money left for
Frivolous Christmas gifts”
“Even so,
A trip to the mall will not hurt
Even though is late, midday,
Too late for bargains hunting"
Then, I just saw it!
On the empty glass shelves
One single purse left,
The very purse that I long coveted,
Black, shining, elegant, unique
Deeply discounted, 30% + 40% off
Waiting for me…
“Coincidence ? No way!
It is my gift from my beloved Father
No doubt in my mind!”
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
In the Love of Christ, John M.D
