I see the same thing when I look at a cross grain of wood
I find it so interesting
that layer upon layer hugs the older year, and protects it
nature is a story unto itself, we just have to stop and observe
this is a wonderful wonderful poem jack
only an artist/poet like yourself would see the beauty revealed
by this act....and good for us that you did, and expressed it so beautifully to share with us......
