26F At 26 in the Fahrenheit On the morning after a long cold night The frost is on the Joshua tree The sky is an ultrablue rarity Of clarity that is seldom seen But clear to me here in the in between Though freezing to be a hopeful sign Of spring returning when the stars align Turning through the ultrablue to me Opening my eyes to the hope of spring Looking forward more than anything To feel then what now I can only see 26F but spring is in sight On the morning after a long cold night Steven Curtis Lance
