Thank You I am an old man Thought of as lesser-than By those who may not Be reading poetry Busy nowadays In their greater-than ways Heedless of fate but Those who read mine know me And that means a lot Those who know what I mean By the signs between The lines by which they see That I too have seen What they see and agree After all show me They know before I go Sooner or later The good that is greater We never forgot Will be what sees us through These strangest of days The wind about to blow Brings out something new The changing of the wind Arranging the end Of the dangerous ways Of those opposed to Hope when now meets always Hope is how I know That I was supposed to Do this to come true That it means anything To anybody The meaning if any And we are many This sharing is the thing That becomes meaning Enough for me to be And do what I can In the end it feels good The greater good now Not lesser-than somehow To be understood By the understanding And that would be who You are so Thank You Steven Curtis Lance
