I have been around a long time
Long enough to see history rhyme
I notice things like this of course
But I found the second time is worse
Like World War 1 becoming 2
Or how our nightmare now coming true
Reminds me of something I lived through
Died through as well but I should tell
You when Nixon resigned I got well
Having been in a coma when
It was Watergate but it was fate
That I should come to life again
So I could see and not be too late
Then but now I am old I see
Not quite like this ever before
This really might be the death of me
I want to feel free having been
Believing I was if naively
Through a crack in society
Haunted to see from the outside in
Waiting for fate to fight the fear
And hate I fear I might not be here
This second time around is not
How it was when I died and forgot
Because I am wide awake now
Hoping Karma will hurry somehow
This time bent with worry I wait
For what went before I never knew
Death is whenever but life is too
And surprisingly stubbornly
Being as mad as I had to be
Through sadder but wiser years between
It rhymes if you know what I mean
