Thank You for Understanding Me
It feels good being understood
Having been misunderstood before
Hard to imagine that I could
Be but seeing me understood more
Than I ever thought I could be
Having had to let go of ego
Along with the rest of my mind
When I went mad a long time ago
Losing myself so I could find
Out finally what I really mean
Between the lines of poetry
Leaving me something to leave behind
Believing then in what I have seen
With my understanding human kind
Being kind to me from afar
Seeing you being serves to remind
Me how I am because you are
My best is what you deserve to see
For the rest having come this far
Now blessed with this opportunity
After the hard times it feels good
Having my rhymes understood between
Friends in the end ultimately
Coming up stumbling out of the dark
Though humbled by mortality
Seeing the light of a distant spark
I thank you for what I do this for
Thank you for understanding me
