Laughing Last



Once my life was not so nice
Nor was I once or twice
Before I got to Paradise
This Valley anyway

Having gotten out here makes
Me feel I have got what it takes
To be nicer having not
Forgotten about what I got
Out of making mistakes

For going through hell before
In Paradise to know what for
But to forget the rest
Not that I got away with it

But getting to forget
Maybe this is what I earned
Repeating lessons until learned
For having passed the test

Before I knew what for I
Paid after all the price to try
What feels so nice I may
Even though I get depressed
Be lucky maybe even blessed

So I say yes this way
To Paradise hell no to fear
Nicely though to disappear
When laughing last is best
