Though having been many my old dog and I
Are here for another day anyway
On as good a day as any not to die
Or ask too many questions when we know
Already the dead who went ahead would say
To get while the getting is good and go
On with this ongoing opportunity
Not knowing how it goes until we try
That it may get better in a while so stay
To get it then but forget knowing why
I know if I ask them they will answer me
Why not anyway like they always do
That the rest of the way is destiny though
Not knowing best not really having to
So I stay to the end of the play to see
If it gets better before we get through
Open to hopeful possibility my
Old dog and I for the rest of the way
This is it after all for me and Brother
Dog to get through somehow or another
For my Brother Dog and me another day

No wonder he wasn't interested in eating it! Yes, the desert with its many wonders and an old dog is a very good way to pass the time on our journey to the end. Oh how many in the rat race would love to be there, alone with an old dog.
"Brother Dog" understands and doesn't waste your time with nonsense. (You are lucky!) "So I stay to the end of the play......"!!! That's the ticket, hon!!
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
