Not the Only One

From the outside in I saw
Insiders stray outside the law
As the fear got underway

Out here this side of sanity
I saw and I tried to say
Something but some got mad at me

But everything is mad now
It got to be as mad as me
And not so lonely somehow

Not only me now this is how
It is and anybody
Else can see what they had to see

So many of us sadly
Going through bad times gone madly
Everything coming undone

Knowing what we might have known
Was not right going on before
Reminded now the hard way

With nearly Nero day by day
Dictator tricks done badly
Now clearly something must be done

Justice got so far away
But just not afraid anymore
What must be has just begun

So many of us waiting for
Hating less and loving more
Humanity not vanity

Out here human on my own
Glad to see I am not alone
Finding humankind today

Mad but maybe not too late
To hope in spite of everything
Something might be happening

Seeing so many of us wait
For something better someday
As mad as I have had to be

Being like this anyway
Glad I am not the only one
