A salute to you sister Here is to the single mother Who makes things happen Who turns adversity Into an adventure Here is to the grandmother Who steps in to take care of the grandkids When the parents for whatever reason Are not able to take care of those children whatever the situation is Thank you a salute to you Thank God for you! Here is to the wife who Supports her husband treating him like the king he is Or to the wife whose husband is absent from home Due to war trying to keep the home fires burning Trying to raise the children While praying that their soldier makes it home whole body and mind Thank you a salute to you Thank God for you! Here is to the sisters, survivors Of illnesses, abuse and addictions Here is to the supporters, girlfriends And prayer partners that helped them through Thank you a salute to you Thank God for you! Here is to the women in clergy Leading us in praise and worship Here is to the mentors and motivators Whoever you are For all the inspiration you give from The sisters, friends, daughters, mothers, aunts and grandmothers Thank you a salute to you Thank God for you! For the history makers, the poets and authors Actresses, doctors, nurses, homemakers. Housekeepers and the CFO’s For any not mentioned both living and not Flowers, candy and small tokens though appreciated are not enough Hugs much love and thanks Here’s to you!
