In and Out of Darkness

Life has two ways to go:

The insecurity of separation,

And the security of union,

From one to many

And many to one;

First night,

And  then day,

Life and death,

Differences and similarities,

Happiness and sadness;

Darkness and lightness,

Pain and pleasure.

We like more light,

Than darkness,

Even knowing  the truth—

We need both,

To have either,

Like rainbows,

Made from both,

Sun and rain.

When you are in darkness,

Stop digging deeper,

See your part getting there,

Make a change or two,

Let go,

Have patience,

Trust life,

Learn the lesson,

Having more lightness,

Doing what earns it.
