Common Sense

Common sense is not what it used to be,

More nonsense than good sense for me;

Why is this so?

Because words grow,

As does everything else,

We think we know.

Back then, common meant one thing,

But now, it translates to everything else;

What has happened?

Things are out of balance:

Too many and too much:

Too many people,

Too many words,

Too many meanings,

Too many beliefs,

Too much misinformation,

Too much miscommunication

Too many half-truths,

Too many assumptions;

But too little:

Too little results,

Too little success,

Too little understanding,

Too little wisdom,

Too little communication,

Too little reflection,

Too little certainties,

Too little full truths.

Time to rearrange,

Less too much,

And more too little.

Maybe then is when,

We find common sense,

The balanced kind.
