Friendship, Forever...

I’m not talking about a year,

no not three or four,

but I want that kind of friendship that is here to stay forever more.

Here I remain,

enduring through the pain,

as the raindrops seems to crash violently against my window pane.

Time runs though my fingers,

yet another day is gone,

again left with the feelings of being cold and all alone.

I don’t want to have to learn to forget you,

I loved all the simple things that you used to do.

As small children playing down at the creek,

as the cold spring water washed over our feet.

I loved it so much when down there we would meet.

Our friendship was one that was sure to last forever,

if just one more time we could be together.

I am here and you are there,

the miles between us now, it just isn’t fair.

I love and miss you dearly,

yet I still can not pick up the phone,

cause another day has passed and I still feel all alone.
