Paul, I am swept to the creek, or the shores of rivers stream, gentle glides of water rush...the birds which also sing...In days gone by, I layed inside the visions of "Hear My Song"....I gazed into the blue sky listening

"Bathe within its soothing balm.
Cleanse and you will know,
how great it feels to sing its psalms
wherever you may go."

ahhh yes the good life.....sublime, and serene & Mother Earth's perfections as I naw on a pieces of clover blooms

I really loved reading this, and I may again sometime. This poem reassures us that life is not the dull, aching abstract thing that makes us carry on. What makes us carry on is "the song of life" and all we have to do is listen to its rhapsody; like the rain hitting the windows, or children laughing while they play, a mother humming a tune while she cleans or even cooks. The "song of life" is there if only we take the time to listen. But nobody does hardly anymore, because everybody is rushing to meet this plane or that train, scurrying to a meeting across town in a taxi stuck in traffic, and still, they do not hear the rhapsody, as they look at their wrist watch, counting down the minutes before they are late.

A wonderful reminder, Paul, that life is there waiting to be lived, not just existed in. Thank you for sharing this wise poem.

What a beautiful, wondrous piece of artistry, Paul, so lilting in its vocal rhythm, so easy on the tongue.

I must confess that most of the poetry I commit to memory nowadays is my own (maybe because I'm inherently lazy and, since I composed the words, I have a headstart on remembering the words). But "Hear My Song" is surely one that breaks my pattern and stirs me to enjoy its beauty again and again.

I like "whichever way we think" in the third stanza. This is a reassuring poem, Paul. Usually if we try to think positive, life is indeed a rhapsody, not In Blue, but in golden yellow.
