Restless and waiting for the next move

A twitch or a movement letting go

Some sign of life that returns the dream

Putting to rest what will not show

Fire burns heavy inside of those eyes

Risked fighting the battle for one proof

The heat of the breath signals the fear

That no other has glimpsed of the truth

Compassion may no longer dwell within him

Humility was forced out in the end

Sharing nothing of self, he is stronger

Bearing wounds where the suffering begins

Releasing the demon of hatred not complete

Just a touch of her hand to his

The softness of her small fingertips

Soothes the madness before it is shown

A pale green color in his eyes comes first

Tension fades away gradually – but I see

That underneath the man of hate

He is just someone else like me.

Illucidating and insightful, Layla! A woman's touch can definitely calm the raging beast... although, it may also incite the tepid torturer and ignite the pent up fury of a forlorn lust.

The Gingerbread House by Pamela Ackerson

She was quite capable of taking care of herself...She appreciated everything he was doing for her and the Grandmothers Four, but she needed his help, not for him to take over.
