What I seek is bound by murmured words
Perhaps by the secretive stream
So quick to rush by with its liquid lyrics
Or maybe it is the stoic trees towering over me
With such a grand stance…I dare not ask
And still I wonder…
Could what I seek be heard amongst the birds
They twitter so
They must know
Sometimes I think the secret is kept by the sea
It aims to lure me out where it knows I fear
So I cannot hear
From here
And then there is the wind
And her cousin the breeze
Plundering through my hair
Like the court jester
If he could just be still
I’d make him spill
These words so elusive
So old
So protected
Are kept from me
But I will continue to mingle
Through the trees
By the stream and…
Amongst the birds
In court with the breeze
And the sea is near
Those murmured words
Will eventually become clear.
