jealousy is something I will never ever understand
...is it ego run a muck?
...or insecurity or inferiority? ...or control issues?
All I know is it will cripple anyone who carries & feeds into it.

You put a nice twist to "jealousy", but it is not a good trait for anyone to want to acquire. Know who you are the rest will take care of itself...

I agree with Fee, though, that it can hurt when you love a person who belongs to someone else. But I don't get jealous either, it's not like me.

Good points expressed Chessley but if I may I would like to add one of my own....jealousy to me is a part of loving whether we want to admit to it or not but...
it is not the jealousy that is the problem it is how we deal with it and learn to express it in more postitive ways.

I have on occasion been, shall we say, envious. What I have learned is that the grass is always greener on the other side no matter which side you are on. In almost every case, what I was envious of crashed and burned of its own weight. Now I graze on my side of the fence that isn't really there. Patrick

we seem to be saddled with all manner of character defects as human beings, always at war with ourselves, the wordly, the carnal with the spiritual and divine. i believe these instincts, such as jealousy, have the ability to blind us with resentment and despair if we let them get out of hand. all we can do is try to keep our own side of the street clean and turn such feelings over to the universe. i think the definition of a success in one who is happy with what they have. in this frame of mind, jealousy has a hard time of it occupying space in the head. good poem chessly.

One thing to consider, Chessly. If I were young again and went out with you I would be jealous too. It is a compliment to You. On the other hand there is trust, and of course JESUS mentioned something along those lines on The Sermon On The Mount.
