THE SEAFARERS

A Piratical Poem

I was born upon the High Seas,

Looting and stealing, just to please.

A Pirate, a killer - the Seas Bleed!

Privateer, Buccaneer, but I'm free.

Hoist the Jolly Roger away,

A skull, crossed-bones, and a blade.

Bone white, silk black, how it appears,

Waving high in the sky, causing fear.

As a boy I was taught in their ways,

To plunder, and to fight with a blade.

A deckhand, a Seaman, just a lad,

Juvenile delinquent, a seed gone bad.

The sea rolls on, sailing a Spanish Galleon,

We live as thieves; robbing, taking bounty!!

Now I'm a man, first mate, appointed captain,

Years of waiting, it finally happened.

Crew of Pirates, appetites for blood,

Swearing, cursing, and drinking Rum.

English vessel in sight upon the ocean,

We attack with canon, and explosions!

Once on board, we loot the hoard,

Survivors walk the plank, we party the more!

Our galleon sails on, through the aqua blue,

Looking for more ships, the which we shall loot.

We murder, we kill, young and unaware,

Blood fills our paths - THE SEAFARERS!!
