It is good to share war experiences from a perspective of humanity because the papers mostly reported the political aspect of the war. I am planning to start writing my sixth book: Memories of War In a Time of Peace which is a collection of stories on my life as a writer living like an ordinary person with ordinary people who was exposed to all types of security risks including death.
In the book I would highlight how I survived and most importantly how I had maintained a steady flow of energy and inspiration to write amid hunger chaos and conflict in a country that has not seen stability for more than two decades. I wish to produce part II of this book which will be a collection of stories narrated by a randomly selected Somali war victims around the world. The object is to let those in peaceful lands know about war from those who have seen war. Then they will know how much lucky they are to enjoy such a peace and shall not be easily moved to war by the rhetoric of some disgruntled war mongers. The world has entered into to a new era of advanced technology where people educate people through a social media network and that is what this boiok is aiming to reach. I remember the war
The dying sparkle in the eye of the child
The wasted souls and tattered hearts
The univited visitors wading in the night air
The pain of running away from one war
But ending up in the hands of another
The safety that slept in the heart of danger
The peace that sheltered in the ramparts of war
The nation that lived inside a bomb shell
The fear of being caught writing about war
Now in a land of peace I write my memoirs
Though I feel haunted by memories of war
Now in a land of peace I write my memoirs
Though I feel haunted by memories of war
I am fortunate never to have "tasted" war; my closest experience with it was through my father's experience in WWII. I pray for peace and I thank you, Abdi-Noor for sharing your sentiments. Love and peace to you,
This is not a drill. The attack on Pearl. They were the ghost planes of the night, deadly, illusive, sharp-clawed Black Cats. The Memoirs of ARM H.P. Lawrence, a Pearl Harbor survivor, Black Cat, and decorated war veteran.

Quite powerful, my friend. And it sounds like a book the world needs to read.
