Paco, the cab driver tells Kenneth the poet that Kauffmann and Igor have come from Switzerland to Costa Rica looking for meaning and asks Kenneth to tell them what he has found lately.

Cielito Lindo

I sat on the edge of my cloud-forest glen
and saw a mountain of clouds rise into the beautiful little sky.
As I watched the clouds billow higher and reflect a dazzling white from the rays of the noon sun,
out of the cloud-mountain
a silver arrow appeared
moving purposefully and unwaveringly toward an unseen and unknowable target,

From the other side arose a black bird soaring on the rising breeze,
its wings spread wide and wavering gracefully to catch and balance
against the down-drafts and cross-currents.

And the Earth turned,
and the cloud-mountain
sanl below the green trees
and the beautiful little sky
was left empty,
blus and alone.
Like me.
