I lay here by candlelight I can hear the sounds of my pain echoed in a trance The flames flicker as I watch them with a sore eye My small hands clutch to what you left behind Slowly beckoning for reason The softness seeps into what has been emptied Reflections of worth crawl over me tonight This dense bed claims me I'm bound by all this attached to the pain The flames spark feelings anew The soft strokes control the slow pulse of my heart And my cheeks are so moist tonight
