a song....

she lays by her phone
and she closes her eyes
and she waits
for a call to never come
she's given out her number
less than she's given out her heart
so what is she waiting for
a call to never come

she can lay as many times as she's lied
when she wishes her dreams were not so
but the only thing corralling her heart
is that very heart itself

she looks to the sky
on such a cloudy night
and she waits
for her star to never show
alone outside she shivers
as the moonlight hides aloft
so what is she looking for
her star to never show

she can look inside when she blinds the rest
when she wishes her dreams were not so
but the only thing disguising her heart
is that very heart itself

again she lays down
with no stars, no calls
her tears leak themselves about
she pulls her covers closer
she takes back her heart
disconnects her number
wishes her dreams were not so
as she pulls her covers closer
