Tears rolled down my face,
As I take in the emptiness of this place.
A place that knew no strife,
A place I lived my second life.
Sat at the arm of my Nan,
Seeing your smile as me and Alan ran.
I put all your memories back,
Even the pictures of your love shack.
I see you and granddad surrounded,
Us sat in front of you crowded.
I remember the look of love,
As we released your dove.
I see your funeral,
I see your burial.
As the rest of the world mourns,
The tsunami.
As the waves crashed around,
You were lowered in the ground.
The waves swished and swept,
We all stood and we wept.
As the world helped them out,
I just wanted to shout.
The unfairness, the unjustness,
I wanted your caress.
Like someone switched on a fan,
We buried you, our Nan.
The waves flew through the air
Your ashes caressed our hair.
The hospitals send out drugs,
We roll up your rugs.
The houses destroyed, all gone.
Your laughter, your smile
All gone.
My own belief as that they do live on...and still watch over us..and that is a very comforting thought..
Many Hugs, Diana..
Writing with such clarity one sees the images through your usage of word pictures.
Good beat with the meter and rhyme.
Hard work has gone in to this and with deep; painful emotion.
Intelligent and brave write.
