Moon Coin The giants played their card game One rowdy drunken night They all believed that lady luck Was seated to their right Money passed from hand to hand Ale splashing on the table As each became more liquored up They played by wits unstable Trust became a passing thing As accusations flew The drunken giants cursed and fought Fermenting in their brew Chairs and table over turned The coins flew in the air They passed out in a sloopy heap With snores of thundered air The smallest of them woke up Seizing on this chance Gathered coins so quietly And stuffed them down his pants The largest woke from his own snores And saw the little thief He tackled him, and grabbed his legs Then spun him by his feet He screamed in shock He howled in pain, his treasure in the air The coins flew to the heavens And somehow stayed up there And now... The smallest we can see as stars Their silver sparkle strewn The closest laughs at giants Who'll never touch the moon Muuuhaahaaa Pax A 3/21/06 ````````````````````` THE MOON WAS BRIGHT BUT RATHER DULL The moon was bright, but rather dull And yet remained.......content While vainly thought himself above The seas and continents I am unique....and oh so blessed Yes different from the rest For I medallian velvet skies By my positioned crest And all below, must look above To see my silver splendor The moon believed himself unique Dismissing star contenders His world consisted of himself A happy light was he Until the night he looked below On a reflective sea For there in murky waters He saw another orb A glowing twin to his chagrin The oceans had absorbed The oceans thief my beauty! How dare they claim my light! The moon descended on the seas And drowned in his own light! GLUB GLUB GLUB PAX A 11/15/05 `````````````````````````` Shared Space The stars would die by daylight The moon entombed from sight The sun would burn the midnight oil Until it dropped from fight To rest thru out the darkness And watch the moon rise high And share the skies for lack of space Yet always say....goodbye Adios! Pax A 10/05 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WAXEN DANCERS OF THE NIGHT To triple time glissade and spin An opague spirit waltzed the wind The hand of winter lead the dance Round the heavens of romance Waxen dancers of the night Spirit ivory, spirit white Ghostly partners spin the skies Shooting stars.....to mortal eyes Pax A IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK I looked up towards the crisp blue sky Humbled by the night Blue velvet curtain draped on high And mourned my crippled flight Attempts to reach the lowest star Would be a feat for me But sadly...it remains...too far To reach....but not.......to see And here I yearn for but one time To journey towards such goal With resolutions sworn to climb As weakness takes its toll For as the lowest, closest star Remains above my grasp I'll send my dearest wish afar It NEVER hurts....to ask!!! Each of these is a stand alone beauty, Anita, but to have given us an entire series is a mighty feat to be sure. I would love to pick one that I liked over the others, but that is not possible since I was enchanted equally by each of them. Amazing work, Anita. It is clear that your pen has gathered no rust in your absence from AD.
