The Melting Pot of Multi-culture

Observations from another time

The melting pot of multiculture

With its self imposed segregation

Of race and creed and generation

Separated by city, suburb and street

But in prisons cauldron, all one meat

Tensions build and some don’t endure,

The Melting Pot of mult-iculture

The Islander with the golden voice,

A colonial boy, was not his choice

The Leb protests with words of fury

When they put him with the old dark koorie

An Asian celled with Arian pure

All part of the pot of multi-culture

Black or yellow, brown or white

They’re all one colour, in the dark of night

Movements are regular and that’s the plan

There’s never time to form a new clan

One by one, they’re fed through the mulcher

And into the melting pot of multi-culture

Maybe it will start from deep within

Societies cages that contain societies sin

The penal confinement of many races

In one place, where everyone places

All of their destinies into one sculpture

Poured from the melting pot of multi-culture

In this are some very definite and necessary issues to consider, as life goes on. One of the issues is color: how does anyone feel so proud of their color that they entertain a hate of any other color of people; when, they, just as the others, never chose who, or what they would be in this life. I could have been them, and they could have been me--we had no choice or decision to fabricate this/our life; it was given to us. Venting ... but, thanks for an eye opener, David. We need it. This is very thoughtful and very well written.

And we are all the same colour on the inside! Hopefully in the world of tomorrow our children and grandchildren will be less inclined to segregate. We can only hope they do a better job than society has done so far. Very good write, David.
