Time On My Hands

When I was in our home office, upstairs, and Sue needed me for something downstairs, she would summon me with an electronic chime. It seemed like there was always something needed, and I used to let it get on my nerves. Why is it you don’t know what you have until it is gone???

TIME ON MY HANDS

Time doesn’t work the way it used to,

Time doesn’t work the way it should.

Early, always early-an hour, a day;

It seems like there’s always more time,

I’m not used to it.

Why, why is there so much extra time?

I don’t remember it being that way.

My days were limned by a musical chime,

Summoning me to this task or that;

I thought it annoying

Now she who needed me is gone away,

And my time has become all my own.

I used to think this would be a fun day,

A no worries day. But she’s not here,

And I miss that damned chime.

This is a very moving poem Chip; writing,as you are doing, is an excellent way to use some of the time on your hands.
Continued success~

Grieving and healing work hand in hand
But time doesn't give a damn
You can kill time
You can let it kill you
Or you can use it
To help you heal
Writing takes time and heals to boot
Hang in there Chip.

Been there Chip, it's no damn fun. I started writing down my thoughts, just putting one foot in front of the other and eventually I began to realize that the hurt didn't hurt quite so much anymore.

One foot in front of the other, today and then again tomorrow and then again the next day.... Stay strong, you'll get there. Dick

what's important is to keep that chime sounding through your heart ... it has its own melodic beauty ... its musical memory resonates through your soul but you naturally miss its tones ...

Oh, it is a terribly difficult transition for you, and you have loved her so well that there must be so much grief right now.
I'm keeping you in my prayers, and I'm just so sorry.
Christine
