Although we drift away from some who were dear to us and our pathways take different directions, the fact that we were truly close still leaves a strong and good feeling deep within our souls. This is another poem from "Acorns of Love and Wisdom."
VOICES FROM THE PAST
And we met again
After so long
It seemed so strange
That being together
Was so natural
As if we each
Would always remain
Part of the other
We were children when
Our youthful song
Was a duet
Of naivete
And bumbling innocence
We stumbled together
We shared
We cared
And we laughed and wept
And we drifted apart
We've grown since then
So many years
Have dried our tears
Our thoughts
Have become stronger
We've found new ways
New partners
Yet sometimes
We think of past times
And each other
What treasure
We share still
To have our separate lives
And also
Tender thoughts
Of each other
