Act

It’s just an act- that we can be apart,
The way it always seems it has to be-
For if you ever saw into my heart-
You’d know that you are everything to me.

I don’t believe in just another day-
I think of you and smile inside so deep
That if we can’t be any other way-
Love is a secret I’m so glad to keep.

Take the stage and play the hero’s role-
While I just cheer you on with every breath-
And never miss the heart you simply stole-
It’s just an act- the star of life and death.

And if I’m ever back into your scenes-
With lights upon a role that I can do,
I’ll show the world that all life ever means
Is I have always been in love with you.
