Affair

You have no secrets is your claim
As you declare you’ve won the game,
But for two years he was my love
And I he said he’s dreaming of.

He finally even went as far
To bid me fly to where you are,
But proved himself as chicken shit
When finally things came down to it.

Oh sure, it hurt to have to part
From one who would not heed his heart,
But no one wins and we all lose,
For none will have what they would choose.

I pity you your second chance,
I’ve learned enough from this romance.
And I’ll move on to other guys
While you can keep this one who lies.

John H. Bidwell

The pain is tangible in this. Sorry you had to live through this. At least a great poem came out of it.

Oh sure, it hurt to have to part

These lines touch my heart..you have
a skilled pen and creative mind.
