“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tired into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one destiny, affects all indirectly.” - Martin Luther King Jr.

Poem Artwork

I was a rock
pounded by the surf,
of your ocean.
Beaten, and broken down
into little pieces
Crumbled like sand,
Thrown down
over and over
Tumbled, around and around
Pushed out and drawn back.
Ground to ground
And now,
even though your waves
still lap against my shore,
I stretch out
sparkling and white
like a bride at low tide
Because now I know
that the destructive force
that made me come undone
also drew me back together
To be, one part of many
and ultimately,
many parts of one.

Chantal, A test of time...going through the changes of life

and learning to feel comfortable in your own skin. Words and

metaphors make this worth reading.

Always,

An outstand metaphorical example of time and tide.
All things must pass but energy or matter is never lost,
only transformed into something more beautiful or useful.

Chanti, I love the theme of intertwined causality! Wish I could fully echo your eloquently-written sentiment. Also love the depiction of how "destructive forces" can actually lead a person to become stronger and more... "together." [that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger]. My own darkness simply will not allow any light at the moment, but I bask vicariously in the light that is shed by your writing -- I thank you for that! -- Jeff

I love the symbolic and metaphorical tone of this meaningful write, Chanti. It seems to me that it is also honestly personal. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis
