Thru the Darkest Night by John Herlihy Through the darkest night I will find the brightest light Under the shallowest surface I will find my deepest purpose With the most faithful friend I remain faithful to the end With patience most beautiful I will preserve any hope dutiful With urge of mind to remember I will hold feelings most tender If what’s wrong feels so right I will still continue to fight A sad heart my happiness stole I will fill the spaces in my soul All thru the darkness of night Under the glow of moonlight - - - - - Copyright © John Herlihy Monday 5 January 2026

THIS IS SO TRUE, MY FRIEND. AGAIN, SPEAKING, METAPHORICALLY...IT IS IN THE DARKEST DAYS OF OUR LIVES THAT WE ARE ABLE TO 'SEE' AND APPRECIATE THE LIGHT OF GOD WHICH ASSURES US OF HIS PRESENCE. AND WHILE STRENGTHENING US AND ENCOURAGING US TO HOLD ON TO OUR FAITH, HE ENABLES US TO ...PRESS ON! A RESOUNDING WORK, INDEED! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

This poem of determination reminds me of my daily schedule, which always finds me up at 2:30 AM, at my computer at 3:00 am for an easy few hours before dawn to get in some proofing and editing of audiobooks. Then usually, from 12:30 to 3, I write for myself. Point being, the most productive time for many of us is in those dark hours you so eloquently addressed in this poetic offering. Those dark night hours are golden for many of us. Thanks for posting.
