The Limits of Reason by John Herlihy Questions are justified Because they have answers. Love has us mystified Because it has no answers. Regret is justified When the answer is wrong. Satisfaction is justified As it sings its own song. Problems are justified Because they offer solutions. Conflict has us mystified With no clear resolutions. Choice is justified Because it offers two roads. Decision is satisfied By taking one of two roads. Freedom is justified By breaking the chains of slavery. Cowardice is satisfied When it opens a path to bravery. The seen is justified Because it offers beauty. The unseen is justified Because it offers mystery. The known is justified Because it offers us the facts. The unknown is justified Offering what the soul lacks. Wisdom need not be justified From darkened souls hidden.
