Another memory destroyed by overpopulation and pollution.

                    Crocheted shawls, natural food co-ops, the beach
            Long-haired hitchhikers, John Lennon eye glasses, the beach
                           Sun-doused days, cool nights, the beach
             Music, musicians, simple living in a complex world, the beach
                   Beautiful, unexplored mountains, back to the beach
                              California in the 70s—where did you go?

Sorry to hear your memories are a bit ruffled on this particular place in California, I believe it is better than ever and much cleaner compared to many parts of our country. I, for one, certainly would not consider leaving California unless it was to live in paradise like Hawaii. Love this write.

I like the drive of this little poem. Everyone knows someone who lives/lived on the left coast. To have been there, ah, this is the satisfaction of such memories. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, summer of 1970, too cool! M.True

I enjoyed reading your poem today. It brought back memories. California on such a lovely day is beautiful! I have kin people still living there but nothing stays the same. Maybe just maybe the magic will come back again. It is still a beautiful and exciting place to live, I visited there and some parts of California I love.
Special the beautiful mountains, early in the morning.

At one time I had two sisters living there and now only one...CA.
is Beautiful and overpopulated and smog- I guess California took
a road trip. Nice memories you have.

It got hijacked by ultra liberals and the porous Mexican border, both were hell bent on destroying California just as rigorously as the president is destroying America.

Sorry. That was the beginning of a rant that you certainly do not need here.
