Starting a new life again

Poem Artwork

 Definitely on a losing streak
Don't dare to play a game.
Marriage over, house sold
I feel so ashamed.
Gotta start my life again
Broke and in old age.
Feel like I'm reading the same old book,
Stuck on the same old page.
But I appreciate the little things more
And there's something everyday.
By that I mean good wine, nice people
And a chance, a new chance
To PLAY!

Never know when a little luck

Will accidentally come your way.

A pleasing write. I like the turn from negative to positive... "new chance to play." -- Jeff Mason

A clean slate. Few of us get a chance to start over again. Unfortunate that it should happen, but clean slates are few and very far between. Great to see something like this end on an excited note of cheer and hope and a little confidence. Just takes a little you know. Enjoyed the read. Bob

Excellent write infusing the reader with positivity, Lark. I do not believe in luck as it is akin to throwing hope to the whims of an unknown force. But I do believe that we pave our own way in this world making choices that may be good or maybe bad as we wind our way through a path or road without street signs to tell us where we ultimately wind up. This poem really points out the good in being able to make a new choice.

every day is a new one, filled with endless possibilities. The luck comes from not feeling so lost and forlorn that you miss the opportunities passing by... Every ending holds a new beginning. Live long, love deep, and know that you are special. M.True

There is no end to what we can keep learning in this game.
When we are down we must believe things can improve.
Wishing improvement all around.
Good poem, thanks for sharing.

You might say that luck's been on my side for a very long time. And you know better than I what I mean by that. Maybe a little of mine will rub off.

I certainly hope that all you have is good luck from now on…

My favorite quote: "If it weren't for bad luck, I I'd have no luck at all."

A profound poetic message. I been there before and glad I am out. Better off to try computer dating than the bar scene. It's a nasty world out in that cesspool and not a pretty one at that. Churches have lots of single groups and at least most folks are sympathetic in there and are willing to share and care. This time of year better off going the safe mode as it seems you tried other rough roads before and as I have found, they all to often lead to nowhere.

Peace, Love and Christmas Blessings,

John Michael Domino

Glad you're back in the game, Lark. Good wine is a good place to set the bar (the figurative bar). Good things follow when you hold onto your standards. Good luck, good cheer, and much affection.

Ab-so-lutely! My friend you damn well betcha! I like that spark showing through the darkness. It is out there. A chance for happiness to claim you for the rest of your life. Look for it. Grab onto it and never let it go. Yep, talking about a new chance to PLAY! It is there for the taking. I am on the sidelines cheering, Lark. Completely!
