I am staring outside on a sunny day

looking outside and looking within

I had a horrible day yesterday

no need to say what it was but I found

myself looking within and looking outside

at the lives of others and wishing I could

start all over again

Some relationships I wish had never happened

A Woman from England I wished I had let come closer

To me but back then I was so wise- a smart ass

now I am older and  wondering if like Frost I had taken

that other path in the woods-- where would I be tonight?

I guess that is what happens when you get older

you see present relationships as to how shallow they are

and find yourself Looking Outside and

Looking Within
