We cannot cure the worlds Ills, but at last we can stand up and be counted as doing something.
Thanks for the spark Cherie .

THERE BUT;

We are shaped by many things as we go through life,
We all have our share of troubles and strife
When looking at others we can say with a sigh,
There but for the Grace of God go I,

When we see the homeless wandering the street,
Looking in doorways where we see them sleep
We can say as we look upward to the sky ,
There but for the Grace of God go I,

Tragedies strike all around the world each day,
Bombers and terrorist have their way,
When on TV news we see the bodies lay,
There but for the Grace of God go I,

Famines, pestilence strike many lands,
We see all the suffering and demands,
For help and sustenance , can we pass them by
Just by saying, “ There but for the Grace go I”,

We live in a land that gives us choice,
We can sway politions with a united voice,
Surely we can help more than just standing by,
Saying ,” there but for the Grace of God go I.
